Stolen car found burnt out after break-ins

Police are investigating break-ins at two businesses in the Murray Mallee early Tuesday morning.

About 4 am on Tuesday two suspects broke into a building site on Mannum Road at Tepko and stole a number of tools. The thieves cut the padlock to the meal room and broke into two vending machines, before breaking into another site office.

A number of Milwaukee power tools were stolen along with the keys to an Isuzu light truck. The suspects loaded up the truck with the stolen goods and upon leaving, drove the stolen truck through the locked gates of the building site and onto Mannum Road.

The suspects are believed to have used the stolen truck to drive through the locked gates of a waste and recycling centre at Brinkley. The suspects broke into a shed and stole a white’ Jimmy’ toolbox containing a large variety of hand tools, four Ryobi power tools and a cig welder/plasma cutter.

The thieves drove off in the stolen truck but it was found a short time later on fire at the Pope Road freeway overpass in Gifford Hill. Police are requesting anyone that saw the stolen white 2008 Isuzu NNR200 light truck with SA registration XRJ975 during those times or has dashcam footage to come forward.

Any information that may assist the investigation can be passed on via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
