The Federal Government has announced a series of measures aimed at supporting farmers facing ongoing supply and cost pressures.

A planned move to full cost recovery for export regulatory services has been delayed by 12 months, now set to begin in July 2027.

The change is intended to ease financial pressure on exporters dealing with rising input costs and global uncertainty.

A new fertiliser supply working group will also be established, bringing together government agencies and key industry bodies including National Farmers' Federation and Fertilizer Australia.

The group will focus on improving fertiliser availability, including engagement with alternative suppliers and monitoring supply chains.

Additional support measures include the rollout of a new drought hardship loan through the Regional Investment Corporation.

Further funding is also being directed toward rural financial counselling services to assist farmers facing prolonged hardship.

The measures are aimed at maintaining farm viability and ensuring continued agricultural production during a period of increased global disruption.
