The National Farmers’ Federation is calling on Australians to show their support for primary producers this Friday as the country marks National Agriculture Day. This year’s theme, “Stand with the Land,” highlights the resilience and determination of the nation’s farmers.
NFF President Hamish McIntyre said Ag Day is “a wonderful chance to celebrate the people behind our nation’s food and fibre,” and that “everyone in the ag industry shows extraordinary grit and innovation.”
The event is held annually on the third Friday of November, with Australians encouraged to attend events, share photos or celebrate with locally grown produce.
Mr McIntyre said “every person depends on agriculture multiple times a day,” and even small gestures of support help strengthen the connection between communities and farmers.
He also encouraged farmers to share moments from their day, particularly during the busy harvest season.
“There’s no better time to show what’s growing in your paddock that will end up on dinner plates across Australia,” he said.
Participants are encouraged to tag the NFF and use the hashtag #AgDayAU, with the organisation saying it looks forward to strong engagement nationwide.
