Victorians with experience in agriculture, the environment and regional communities are being encouraged to apply for a role helping shape the state’s biosecurity priorities.

Agriculture Victoria is seeking expressions of interest for the next three-year term of its Biosecurity Reference Group, which provides independent advice on implementation of the state’s Biosecurity Strategy.

Executive Director Biosecurity Victoria Charlotte Austin says stronger biosecurity outcomes depend on drawing on a broad range of experience and perspectives.

Members work with industry, communities and government to identify emerging issues, inform policies and programs, and strengthen connections across the biosecurity system.

Applications are encouraged from people working in agriculture, supply chains, natural resource management, research, science and technology, and community and regional organisations, with First Nations applicants also encouraged.

Applications close at 11.59pm on Sunday, August 23, through the Biosecurity Reference Group Committee form on the Agriculture Victoria website.
