Sussan Ley checks out Narrandera Business Centre Masterplan

Narrandera Shire Council took the opportunity to brief Federal member for Farrer, Sussan Ley, on the upcoming development of East and Bolton streets.

General Manager of Narrandera Shire Council, George Cowan, said Ms Ley engaged with Council staff to be a better understanding of what the Shire is planning.

“Council has allocated $2 million to upgrade roads in Narrandera and the centre of town is clearly a location that will create the greatest benefit for residents,” said Cowan.
“During our elected representative’s visit, we ensured she understood our ambitions, which will address issues with drainage and give the busy area an upgrade.”

Final design plans are still being completed and Council will be seeking additional funding to undertake as much of the Business Centre Masterplan as possible.

“Our aim is that this project will be presented to the new and re-elected councillors for approval,” said Mr Cowan.
“With their support and guidance, Council will work to develop grant applications and finalise plans to improve Narrandera’s central business district.”
