Agriculture Victoria is inviting farmers to register for a free six-week online farm business program designed to strengthen resilience and risk management skills.

The program, commencing on February 25, will run weekly and is open to livestock, grain, mixed, horticulture and apiculture enterprises across the state.

Project leader Kit Duncan-Jones says the initiative aims to help farmers better manage climate variability and build long-term business confidence.

Participants will take part in interactive sessions covering strategic planning, financial management, climate and natural resource risk, workforce planning, succession and farm safety.

As part of the course, farmers will be supported to develop a practical farm business plan, with access to a one-on-one review session with an experienced consultant.

The program is to be delivered online to improve accessibility, and is supported by Agriculture Victoria staff and specialist consultants. It is jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Victorian Government’s Sustainability Fund.

Registrations are now open, with more information and the online registration form available at www.agriculture.vic.gov.au/farmbusinessresilience.
