A man is in police custody after an alleged stabbing at Millicent on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to George Street in Millicent at about 8.30 am on Saturday after reports that a man had been stabbed.
Police arrived on the scene and located the victim, a 24-year-old man, with a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
After receiving information on the scene Police searched the area for the suspect, who was located about 9.45am. He was arrested and taken into police custody.
The 28-year-old Millicent man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing harm. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Millicent Magistrates Court on Monday.
