A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly being caught more than six times over the legal limit in the NSW Central West on the weekend.

At about 5.45 pm on Sunday (12 December 2021), Police stopped a white Holden utility on the Lachlan Valley Way at Lake Cargelligo, after receiving reports from the public about a car driving dangerously in the area.

The driver, a 50-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test which police say returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Lake Cargelligo Police Station, where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.326.

The driver was charged with high-range PCA and had his licence suspended. He was given a future court attendance notice to appear at Lake Cargelligo Local Court on Wednesday 19 January 2021.
