Victoria’s Country Fire Authority has welcomed a significant funding injection aimed at strengthening frontline emergency response.
The State Government has committed more than 148 million dollars toward new vehicles, upgraded stations and improved equipment over the next decade.
The package includes a 100 million dollar investment in tankers and pumpers, designed to modernise the fleet and better support firefighting operations.
Additional funding will support new and upgraded stations, along with protective equipment, training and volunteer wellbeing.
CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan says the funding will enhance safety and capability for firefighters across the state.
“It will ensure our hard-working volunteers are equipped with the most up-to-date, safe and modern facilities, vehicles and equipment to help protect lives and property in their communities now and well into the future,” he said.
The investment is expected to benefit brigades in both regional and peri-urban communities, with a focus on long-term resilience and support for future generations.
