The South Australian Government has announced that an additional $876,000 will be provided to extend South Australia’s Rural Financial Counselling Service for farmers and rural businesses recovering from drought.

The funding will maintain increased counselling support for businesses that have experienced sustained hardship during recent dry conditions, with the service delivered by Rural Business Support on behalf of the State and Federal Governments as part of the $117 million Drought Support Package.

The Government says recent rainfall has improved conditions and lifted business confidence across South Australia’s agricultural sector, but many rural businesses are continuing to recover from the financial impacts of drought.

Looking ahead, the Government says it will continue monitoring seasonal conditions and industry impacts throughout 2026 to ensure support remains responsive to regional communities.
