
The federal MP for Farrer in south west New South Wales, Sussan Ley, will remain in parliament - if re-elected - after a federal intervention within the Liberal Party saved her from her own branch disendorsing her.
A court battle was being waged over the future of sitting MPs Ley, Alex Hawke and Trent Zimmerman with local members looking for fresh blood. Members were also contesting their party's choice of others with party hierarchy at an impasse.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Liberal Party confirmed the federal executive was intervening:

Ms Ley told Flow listeners Friday week ago that she was glad she had Prime Minister Scott Morrison in her corner.
