Mildura City Heart is thrilled to announce the arrival of Adelaide 36ers NBL star forward, Alex Starling, who will be joining Border Sports Academy to lead exciting basketball workshops in Langtree Mall.



Originally hailing from Miami, Florida, Alex Starling has established himself as a prominent figure in Australian basketball, notably with the Adelaide 36ers where he plays as forward number 32. His career highlights include three Grand Final victories, two Grand Final MVP awards, and numerous accolades such as the Woollacott Medal, League MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year honours.


Apart from his on-court achievements, Alex Starling serves as the President and Head Coach at Sleed Sports and Mentoring Services, reflecting his dedication to sports development and mentorship.


"We are thrilled to have Alex Starling join us for our school holiday basketball workshops," said Border Sports Academy’s Bec Rudd-Mawfaw. "His experience and expertise will inspire young athletes and provide invaluable insights into the game."


The workshops, designed for various age groups from under 10s to under 16s, will kick off daily starting from 10am 2nd and 3rd July. Each session is limited to 30 participants per day, emphasising personalised coaching and skill development.


"We encourage all basketball enthusiasts to secure their spots early," added Mildura City Heart Managing Director Danielle Hobbs. "This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the best in the league."


Early bird tickets are $8 per person if you snap up you ticket by 29th of June, or $12 after 29th of June.
