Agriculture Victoria teams have been on the ground this week supporting farmers affected by recent bushfires, with a focus on urgent animal welfare and assessing agricultural impacts.
State Agency Commander Wendy Thom says the immediate priority is responding to animal welfare needs, while gathering information to inform recovery efforts as access to properties improves.
She says it is still too early to determine the full extent of livestock losses, given the ongoing and evolving nature of fire activity across large areas.
Farmers are encouraged to activate post-fire plans and report impacts through Agriculture Victoria, while the Victorian Farmers Federation continues coordinating emergency fodder relief for affected producers.
