Regional and rural communities in New South Wales will soon have hands-on access to the latest agricultural technology, with the launch of the Farms of the Future mobile learning centre.
The purpose-built bus, operated by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, delivers practical training on Agtech devices and on-farm connectivity solutions directly to farmers.
The bus is making its maiden voyage through regional NSW, offering Agtech Fundamentals workshops, virtual reality stations, and interactive displays. Farmers will see tools including soil moisture probes, weather stations, in-paddock weighing systems, and water tank monitors in action.
Project Manager Hamish Dickson said the program helps farmers identify technology needs, make informed decisions, and apply data to improve farm management.
More than 1,300 producers have already participated in previous workshops. The bus will continue to Dubbo and the Big Tech Big Ideas Field Days in March.
Producers, councils, grower groups, schools, and community organisations can register to host the mobile learning centre or book workshops online.
