Ambos at major sporting events Juande watch after horror wait

Clayton Bester probed the issue of a lack of mandatory ambulances at professional sporting events in Victoria after Adelaide United player Juande’s horrific injury.

The Spaniard sustained a horrific leg break and had to wait to receive medical attention at AAMI Park on the weekend in the Reds’ away clash against Melbourne City.

Ex-players and fans criticised the long delay between play which was due to officials on the ground having towait for an ambulance to arrive at the venue.

The incident relates to a technicality that the Victorian government has recently overseen whereby ambulance services are being prioritised for public use, resulting in professional sporting officials no longer being obliged to ensure ambulance services are present at venues.

The confusing event overshadowed the high-scoring clash between the two sides who are both on track to play finals football in this season’s A-league Men competition.
