VFF Dairy Council Sets New Priorities

The Victorian Farmers Federation United Dairyfarmers Policy Council has met for the first time since its recent election, outlining key priorities for the year ahead.

The council says rebuilding membership will be a major focus, describing it as essential to maintaining a strong voice for Victorian dairy farmers. The current milk levy collection system will remain in place while broader membership and funding arrangements are reviewed.

The VFF UDV will also increase engagement with farmers, starting with a member meeting in Victoria's Region Nine next month to discuss local issues and help fill a vacant policy councillor position.

The council has also reaffirmed its support for Australian Dairy Farmers and says it will continue exploring a Victorian Dairy Industry Strategy and stronger partnerships with Dairy Australia and regional development programs.
