The Australian Electoral Commission is encouraging voters in the Farrer electorate to plan ahead for the upcoming by-election, with a focus on reducing unnecessary travel.
With fuel costs a concern for many regional Australians, officials say combining voting with routine trips could help minimise expenses over the coming weeks.
State Manager Rebecca Main says voters should consider all available options, including polling day booths in smaller communities and early voting centres opening from next week.
Seventy-four polling places will operate on election day, many located in small towns to limit the need for long-distance travel.
Eleven early voting centres will also be available, allowing voters to cast their ballot ahead of time if they are unable to attend on polling day.
The commission says careful planning will ensure voters meet their obligations while managing time and travel efficiently during the election period.
