The Young Farmers Business Program will officially launch at the Sydney Royal Easter Show next week, targeting the next generation of agricultural leaders.

The initiative is part of a $43 million joint investment by Federal and New South Wales governments into farm business resilience.

It will begin with the Young Farmer Exchange, where industry experts and young producers will discuss the future of agriculture under the theme “Agriculture 2075”.

The broader program will deliver workshops, mentoring and tools to strengthen business planning, risk management and financial decision-making.

A key component will focus on improving participants’ readiness to engage with banks and lenders as they grow their enterprises.

The program is being delivered in partnership with NSW Farmers and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW.

Minister Tara Moriarty says building skills and confidence in young farmers is essential to ensuring a resilient and productive agricultural sector into the future.
