Will Naracoorte unite behind their team's local date with destiny?

Naracoorte United skipper Andy Munro joined Ellis Gelios to look ahead to his side's dream draw in the upcoming Australia Cup qualifying round in what Football SA has labelled a 'David and Goliath' encounter..

Saturday's 3pm clash at the Naracoorte and District Sports Centre will see the host side welcome historic Adelaide-based club Adelaide Cobras, who currently play in the Federation's State League One competition, placed one league below the state's top level of football, the National Premier Leagues on the pyramid. The Cobras boast a wide array of talent on their books, such as the likes of one of the state's most recognisable talents at local level, 2014 NPL golden boot winner Perry Mitris.

The match has been labelled as the Limestone Coast's biggest ever football occasion and Munro admitted that it is the biggest stage the club has ever competed on, despite existing since the late sixties.

If Naracoorte are to pull off the 'cupset', it could set-up a potentially unexpected journey for the amateur side which could result in a fairy-tale tie against NPL or even A-league opposition during the later rounds of the Australia Cup.

Earlier on Saturday, the Gawler Eagles host WT Birkalla in the same Cup round at Karbeethan reserve from 11am.
