The Wallabies hopes of an unlikely Rugby Championship triumph have been extinguished with a 28-14 loss to the All Blacks at a wet and wild Perth stadium.
Australia struggled with discipline and injuries throughout the match, picking up two yellow cards and being forced into a late reshuffle up front, seeing the side fail to send record-breaking prop James Slipper out with a win in his 151st and final Test match.
The defeat marks New Zealand’s 11th straight victory over the Wallabies, stretching back to 2020.
Australia now heads into a tough five-match spring tour, facing Japan, England, Italy, Ireland and France later this month.
