Victorian and Southern New South Wales Weekend Footy Wrap – Games 18 May

For many competitions we are five or 6 weeks into the season and competition ladders are taking shape.

In Hume Football Netball League, the big winner on the weekend was Jindera who all but ended the Billabong Crows chances of finals with an 80 point demolition at home.

Across in Murray Football the match of the round fulfilled its billing as Nathalia beat the Moama by 5 points late in the game.

In Picola District, the much  improved Mathoura fell short of Berrigan by a solitary point.

Over in Heathcote District it was Colbinabbin by 10 goals over Lockington Bamawn United which sees the Cats season teetering.

In Central Murray the Mallee Eagles had a draw with powerhouse Kerang which signifies the closeness of this competition all year.

Over in Golden Rivers the Moulamein Swans had their first win of the season with another close game, a one pointer against Murrabit.

With no North Central competition as a result of a league bye, all roads led to the Wimmera where the Southern Mallee Thunder under coach Keiran Delahunty beat his old side Minyip Murtoa by 100 points! In Horsham District Rupanyup moved into double chance calculation with a solid win over fellow aspirant finalist NQ Bombers.

Up in the North West of Victoria the Merbein Magpies kept in touch with a win against Redcliffs while in Millewa the derby between Werrimull and Meringur was won comfortably by the Magpies.
