The race for South Australia's Agricultural Town of the Year title has narrowed to ten finalists following a statewide public vote.
Ninety-one nominated communities have been reduced to a shortlist that includes Burra, Coobowie, Cowell, Crystal Brook, Cummins, Kimba, Moonta Bay, Orroroo, Stockwell and Waikerie.
Now in its eighth year, the award recognises towns that demonstrate strong agricultural leadership, innovation, resilience and community spirit.
Each finalist will now submit a detailed written application addressing criteria including sustainability, economic impact, agricultural education and community engagement.
An independent judging panel will then visit each town before selecting three finalists and ultimately the overall winner.
The successful community will be announced later this year at the South Australian Regional Showcase Awards, receiving recognition signage, a community celebration and statewide media exposure highlighting its contribution to primary industries.
