Sturt Highway tragedy takes Barossa teen near Kingston-on-Murray


A young man from the Barossa has sadly lost his life in a collision on the Sturt Highway on Sunday morning.


Just before 6am his Holden Commodore crashed into a small truck near the bridge west of Cobdogla.


The driver, an 18-year-old from the Barossa, died at the scene.


The driver of the truck, a local Riverland man, sustained minor injuries and has been taken to hospital.


Emergency services attended and the highway was closed in both directions for several hours while Major Crash officers investigated the scene.
