A look at round 13 of the AFL season as Port Adelaide extended their club-record winning streak to 10 and struggling Carlton dropped a fifth-straight match.

THEY SAID IT: "Right now, we're in the pit." West Coast coach Adam Simpson after suffering the heaviest loss - 122 points to Adelaide - in his decade-long tenure.

PLAYER OF THE ROUND: Taylor Walker kicked a career-high 10 goals to celebrate his 250th AFL match in the Crows' rout of West Coast. Walker had never kicked a double-figure tally in a match at any level but is now the fourth Adelaide player to achieve the feat.

THE MOMENT: The inspirational Neale Daniher was given a guard of honour by Collingwood and Melbourne players in spine-tingling scenes as he walked off the MCG following the pre-game Big Freeze event. For the ninth year on the King's Birthday holiday, famous Australians slid down the slide into a pool of ice to raise money for MND research. Daniher's voice might have left him, but the former Demons coach's spirit remains.

TALKING POINT: Yet again, the heat will be firmly on Carlton after the Blues lost their eighth game in nine, with their sole victory in that time coming against lowly West Coast. Michael Voss has been guaranteed his position as coach but the Carlton faithful are becoming seriously restless.

STATS THAT MATTER: Brisbane's horror record at the MCG continued as they slumped to a 13th loss from their past 14 starts at the grand final venue when they were upset by the young, rebuilding Hawthorn. The Lions' only win at the MCG in the past nine years came in last year's semi-final with a stunning triumph over Melbourne. Meanwhile, Port Adelaide extended their club-record winning streak to 10 games by beating the Western Bulldogs.

TRIBUNAL WATCH: Hawthorn captain James Sicily and Richmond forward Rhyan Mansell face multiple weeks on the sidelines after being sent directly to the AFL tribunal for rough conduct. St Kilda's Dan Butler will also head to the tribunal after electing to challenge a one-game charge of rough conduct against Sydney defender Nick Blakey. Marcus Bontempelli had no case to answer for his high bump on Dan Houston.

INJURIES: L Jones (Port, jaw), H McLuggage (Lions, concussion), T Nankervis (Rich, quad), J Aish (Frem, head).

WHAT'S NEXT: Red-hot Port Adelaide host reigning premiers Geelong in a tantalising start to round 14. The Lions will be determined to bounce back from a shock loss when they face Sydney at the Gabba on Friday night. Carlton's Sunday clash with Gold Coast at the MCG will be high stakes, with another defeat certain to heap more pressure on the beleaguered Blues.
