Last weekend's first-round matches in Lower Yorke Peninsula cricket saw the bat largely dominate the ball with some big scores posted.

The biggest run-fest was at Curramulka with Eastern Districts piling on 3 for 300 against Yorketown batting first. Troy Goldsworthy and Ned Watters both smashed their way to big hundreds. In reply Yorketown put up a respectable 8 for 167 from their 45 overs with Brad Twatz undefeated on 90.

In other A grade matches, Stansbury's first innings total of 170 was enough to beat Corney Point who were bowled out for 138.

Port Victoria's 213 was too many for Sunbury who were bowled out for 121 and Warooka was the only team to bat second and win, chasing down Minlaton's total of 127 in the 24th over for the loss of just two wickets.
