Results from Eyre Peninsula/Outback Cricket


Le Hunte Cricket Association

Waddikee/Warramboo hosted Kyancutta and Warramboo with the home side winning the toss and electing to bat. Corey Waters top-scored for the hosts, finishing unbeaten on 70 with Jake Sampson (62) also batting well. Waddikke/Warramboo finished their 40 overs with an imposing total of 4 for 267.


In reply, Kyancutta struggled early and lost their first wicket with the score at 23. In an incredible collapse, they would lose 6 wickets for 5 runs to find themselves at 8 for 48. A 45 run ninth-wicket stand saw Kyancutta to a total of 93 with Bigg and Skipworth adding some respectability to the scorecard, both making 22.


Corey Waters backed up his work with the bat to be best with the ball finishing with figures of 5 for 23 from 7 overs.


Eastern Eyre Cricket Association

At Port Neill Oval, the home side took on the might of Buckleboo. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first. They were restricted to 9 for 154 from their 45 overs with Joey Lienert top-scoring with 38. Llewelyn was the best with the ball for Port Neill taking 3 for 29.


In reply, Port Neill dominated the poor Buckleboo bowling despite an early setback. Port Neill lost opener Selkirk for a duck on the second ball of the innings with Tom Davey then joined at the crease by Llewelyn. The pair put on an 80 run partnership before Davey fell to Baldock for a well made 58. Llewelyn (70*) combined with Tom Turner to reach the target in the 35th over.


At Rudall Oval, the home side won the toss and elected to bat first against Cowell. Riley Evans was the only real resistance provided against the accurate Cowell bowling. He would remain unbeaten on 58 with Rudall bowled out in the 25th over for 102. Zane Wykamp was best with the ball for Cowell, returning figures of 4 for 11 from 7.1 overs.



In reply, a 67 run opening stand between King Carlos Jaeschke(30) and Loffler(42) put Cowell in a strong position. A mini-collapse saw them lose 5 for 17 however Wykamp and Siviour steadied the ship and saw Cowell home in just the 18th over.

Great Flinders Cricket Association

At Kapinnie Oval, an excellent game of cricket saw the hosts overcome a stern challenge from Yallunda Flat. The hosts won the toss and batted first and bowled out for 211in the 45th over of the innings. Flynn Paech (55) and Brad Hazlegrove (44) continued their good form with the bat while Franklin collected 3 wickets for Yallunda Flat.


In reply Yallunda Flat fell 38 runs short of victory, finishing their 45 overs at 8 for 173 with Craig Povey top-scoring with 47 not out. Jay Green was best with the ball for Kapinnie/Mt Hop, returning figures of 3 for 46 from his 10 overs.


At Karkoo, Cummins won the toss and elected to bat against Karkoo/Yeelanna. Tom Crettenden smashed his way to an unbeaten 56 from just 38 balls as Cummins posted 7 for 201 from their 45 overs.


In reply, Karkoo/Yeelanna opening batter Bryce Breed anchored the run chase with a magnificent 105 from just 100 deliveries. When he fell with the score at 150, the Karkoo/Yeelanna innings lost momentum. They finished their 45 overs just 12 runs short of victory at 8 for 190.
