Pasture Focus for BetterBeef Farm Walk

Beef producers in Victoria’s west are being invited to take part in a practical on-farm pasture walk near Ballarat next month.

The Ballarat BetterBeef Group will host the session on Wednesday, May 6, across two properties at Mount Mercer and Mount Wallace.

The event will focus on pasture and weed management, alongside soil testing and fertiliser strategies to improve productivity.

Industry specialists Lisa Warn and Agriculture Victoria’s Neil James will guide participants through interpreting soil test results and planning pasture recovery.

Mr James says the day is designed to be hands-on and interactive, giving producers greater confidence in making pasture management decisions.

He says attendees will work through real paddock examples, identify key pasture species, and assess whether paddocks require renovation or adjustment.

The free event is open to all beef producers, with registrations required for catering.
