NSW Farmers Set Policy Agenda at Annual Conference

More than 300 farmers from across New South Wales will gather in Sydney this week as the NSW Farmers Annual Conference focuses on the major issues affecting food and fibre production.

Delegates meeting at Rosehill Gardens on Monday and Tuesday will debate policies covering food, fuel and fertiliser security, drought preparedness, renewable energy planning, land tax and biosecurity.

NSW Farmers Chief Executive Annabel Johnson says the conference gives farmers the opportunity to identify the industry's biggest challenges and develop solutions to help strengthen the future of agriculture.

She says the timing is significant ahead of next year's New South Wales election, with farm businesses continuing to face global supply pressures, rising production costs and ongoing weather variability.

A key focus will be improving Australia's food, fuel and fertiliser security, following recent global disruptions that exposed vulnerabilities in supply chains. State political leaders and industry representatives are also expected to address the conference as farmers shape the organisation's policy priorities for the year ahead.
