Mildura Field Days really has "something for everyone"

The marquees are up, the exhibitors are ready, the weather forecast looks perfect and coordinator Jo Rodda is all set for another action-packed Mildura Field Days this weekend on Friday 19th May and Saturday 20th May at the Mildura Racecourse.

Jo joined Flow FM to give us an insight into all the exciting things that will be taking place at this year’s highly anticipated event.

There will be something for everyone this year, just as there has been in previous years. Some highlights include talented performers on the main stage, displays of native animals, the future farmers walk for the kids to collect some goodies, free face painting, amusement rides, the Mallee Sunset Ute competition, delicious food stalls and plenty more.

“It's quite cliche but it really, there is something for everyone,” Ms Rodda said.

Exhibitors who go above and beyond will be acknowledged for their efforts as a variety of awards are up for grabs over the weekend. There will be awards for best new and best returning exhibit, best small, medium and large exhibit, and a new award this year for best catering site.

“I'm actually a bit of a Strawberries Galore fan, so I'm really looking forward to their pavlovas, but we have woodfire pizza, we have the refreshment centre, we do have a range of burgers and things, twisty chip, kebabs, amazing paella, Two Black Sheep who do the best squid you've ever tasted. So yeah, there's lots of culinary delights to sample over the two days of the event.”

The event initially started out as gadget day and was the brainchild of the Dried Fruits Association, who are the major sponsors of the event to this day. Dried fruit growers volunteer tirelessly to help put the event together and to assist over the two-day extravaganza to make everything possible.

Entry to the event is just $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children 18 and under get in free. You can head to mildurafielddays.com.au or head to the Mildura Field Days Facebook page to book tickets and to find out more.
