In AFL, the Fremantle Dockers have significantly boosted their chance at a 2025 finals appearance after stunning premiership favourites Collingwood with a classic one-point win at the MCG.

Down by 22 points early in the final quarter, the Dockers surged home with the last four goals of the game to win 79 to 78 in a Sunday special.

The result puts Fremantle into seventh spot, crucially two games clear of the ninth-placed Western Bulldogs.

It was Collingwood's second straight loss, after falling to the Gold Coast Suns last week to end their eight-game winning streak.

The Suns ecstasy over defeating the premiership favourites was short-lived however after they were decimated by the Adelaide Crows in the first half of Sunday’s game, kept goalless until the main break for the first time in the club’s history.

Despite going inside 50 more times than the Crows, they were left facing a 55 point deficit at half-time.

While the Queensland side found some fight in the third quarter – landing 5 goals – it was too little too late as the Crows cruised to a 61-point victory with a final score of 107 to the Suns 46.
