Alex De Minaur headlined a contingent of five Australians to win their first round matches at the French Open, as Alexei Popyrin, Adam Walton, Daria Kasatkina, and Ajla Tomljanovic also enjoyed first round success.
De Minaur - the ninth seed at Roland Garros - enjoyed a straight sets win over Serbia's Laslo Djere, and will next face Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.

Popyrin - the 25th seed - was on track for a straight sets win after winning the first two sets against Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka, and advanced when Nishioka retired hurt during the third set. Chilean veteran Alejandro Tabilo will be his second round opponent.
Walton enjoyed a taxing five-set win against Germany's Maximillian Marterer to earn his second career Grand Slam match victory, and will face Andrey Rubley in the second round.
Kasatkina - representing Australia for the first time in a Grand Slam after securing citizenship earlier this year - won in three sets against Katerina Siniakova, and will come up against Leolia Jeanjean, who will be well supported in her home Slam.
Tomljanovic won an all-Australian encounter with compatriot Maya Joint in straight sets. The victory came just days after Tomljanovic faced Joint in the Moroccan Open semi-final and was forced to retire, allowing Joint to advance and win her maiden WTA Tour Title.
Tomljanovic faces a tough task in the second round, as she's scheduled to play fourth-seed and reigning French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini.
