The first low-interest loans have now been approved under the South Australian Government’s two-hundred million dollar drought loan scheme, with funding beginning to reach producers in some of the state’s hardest-hit regions.

Eligible farmers can access concessional loans of up to two-hundred-and-fifty thousand dollars over ten years, including a two-year repayment holiday, as cashflow pressure continues across drought-affected areas.

The State Government says applications are being assessed within five days once all required information is provided, aiming to ensure support is delivered quickly while maintaining appropriate due diligence.

Interest rates are set below commercial lending products and remain lower than existing Federal concessional drought loan schemes.

The program forms part of the broader ninety-seven million dollar drought support package, with applications open until the end of twenty-twenty-six.
