And England have taken a 2-1 lead in their home test series against India, after winning a thriller at Lord’s by 22 runs.

Remarkably, both teams scored exactly 387 runs in the first innings to set up a grandstand finish over the final two days.
England set India a target of 193 for victory, which proved to be too much on a fifth-day wicket as they were bowled all out for 171 after the tea break on day 5.
England captain Ben Stokes was named man of the match for a strong all-round performance which yielded 77 runs and five wickets, as well as a crucial run out to remove Rishabh Pant for 74 in the first innings.
England haven’t won a test series against India since 2018; they can clinch the series and win the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy with a win in the fourth test in Manchester beginning on July 23.
