Adelaide Crows list manager Justin Reid is riding the wave of positivity that continues to build at West Lakes following the end of the Jordan Dawson trade saga.
The Swans reluctantly accepted the Crows "take it or leave it" offer of Melbourne's first-round pick in next years national draft in return for Dawson who is now officially an Adelaide Crow.
Reid described Dawson as a classy left-footer with leadership potential.
“He is one of the most promising young players in the competition who is entering the prime of his football career,” Reid said.
Dawson is the fourth product of SA's southeast now on the Adelaide list. Dawson played his junior Football at the Robe Football Club in the Mid South East League. Fellow Southeast products Darcy Fogerty (Lucindale), Mitch Hinge (Mundulla) and Luke Pedler (Kingston) all played their junior football in the neighbouring KNT Football League.
When asked if the Crows were looking to take their flag in the South East region, Reid grinned and had one simple request for Limestone Coast locals.
"It's a good breeding ground for us so you could keep breeding similar type players we'd absolutely entertain that!".
"But there are existing relationships between the boys, they know of each other certainly".
Reid also spoke about his own relationship with the Swans in the wake of the difficult Dawson negotiations, coach Matthew Nick's reaction to trade getting done and whether or not the Crows had any other potential moves up their sleeves for the rest of the trade window.
