Daria Kasatkina has been knocked out of the French Open, after last night going down in straight sets to Russia's Mirra Andreeva 6-3 7-5.

Kasatkina - representing Australia for the first time in a grand slam after securing permanent residency in March - was no match for her former Russian compatriot, as the teenage superstar converted on four of seven break points.

The result marks the first Grand Slam in which no Australians will play in the finals since the 2023 US Open.

World number 361 Lois Boisson continued an incredible Grand Slam debut, as she upset world number 3 Jessica Pegula despite dropping the first set.

Cheered on by a supportive home crowd, the French wildcard prevailed 3-6 6-4 6-4 to punch her ticket to the quarter finals, where she will play Andreeva.

In the men's draw, Novak Djokovic defeated Cameron Norrie in striaght sets for his 100th win at Roland Garros. The win also put him through to his 19th French Open quarter final, surpassing Roger Federer's 18 Wimbledon quarter-finals for the most finals appearances in a single Grand Slam tournament.

World number 1 Jannik Sinner defeated Andrey Rubley in straight sets to continue his perfect run, having not yet dropped a set in the tournament.

World number 62 Alexander Bublik upset fifth-seed Jack Draper in four sets to qualify for his first Grand Slam quarter final.
