Fifth placed Geelong fell just five points short of setting a new AFLW record winning margin, adding to Sydney Swans' fans men's grand final woes with an 81 point home rout against the winless Swans at GMHBA Stadium.
2022 debutants Essendon and Port Adelaide played in both wet and dry with the Bombers prevailing on Sunday by 27 points.
In other matches with no affect on the finals, Fremantle overran newcomers Hawthorn by five points on Saturday and the GWS Giants got off to a fast start and ran out 2 goal winners against the Gold Coast Suns.
