The National Farmers’ Federation has expressed support for farmers and regional communities affected by a series of natural disasters across the country, including bushfires, flooding and Cyclone Koji.
NFF President Hamish McIntyre says the loss of human and animal life, along with damage to vital infrastructure, has been devastating, and recovery will require significant time, effort and resources.
The federation has welcomed the Federal Government’s swift announcement of disaster assistance for affected farmers in Victoria and Queensland, saying early support will be critical to recovery.
Farmers are being encouraged to seek assistance through available relief channels, including state farming organisations, industry groups and the NFF’s Disaster Relief website, as agencies and communities work together to respond.
