The South Australian Government has launched a new website bringing together the latest information on H5 bird flu as surveillance and preparedness activities continue across the state.
The new birdflu.sa.gov.au website provides advice for producers, veterinarians, wildlife carers an d the community, alongside updates from SA Health, PIRSA and the Department for Environment and Water.
Aerial surveillance has now covered more than 12,000 kilometres of coastline and is being expanded to include sections of the River Murray. Land-based monitoring and wildlife testing are also continuing.
Authorities say more than 250 birds have been tested from over 2,200 reports, with five positive detections in wild birds.
There are still no cases in commercial poultry and no evidence of mass wildlife deaths in Australia.
