South Australian livestock producers and industry groups are being urged to act quickly, with applications for key industry funding programs closing later this month.

Livestock SA has issued a reminder to members that submissions for both the Sheep Industry Fund and Cattle Industry Fund will shut at five o’clock on Friday, March 27.

The funds are designed to support projects that deliver practical, on-ground benefits for the state’s sheep and cattle sectors, with a strong focus on aligning with the Red Meat and Wool Blueprint 2030.

Priority areas for funding include animal health and biosecurity, traceability, market access, skills development, and sustainable production systems. Advocacy and broader strategic initiatives are also eligible for support.

Livestock SA chief executive Travis Tobin says the funds play a vital role in strengthening the industry, with levies reinvested directly into producer-focused projects.

He says applicants with strong ideas that address industry priorities and demonstrate co-investment are encouraged to submit proposals before the deadline.

Projects will be assessed on their overall benefit to industry, alignment with state and national objectives, and their ability to leverage additional funding.

Further details, including guidelines and application forms, are available through Livestock SA’s Industry Funds portal.
