Australian Boomers legend and NBA champion Andrew Bogut has been inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Bahrain.
Bogut becomes the ninth Australian bestowed with the illustrious honour, following in the footsteps of Penny Taylor, Robyn Maher, Tom Maher, Michele Timms, Jan Stirling, Andrew Gaze, Lindsay Gaze and Al Ramsay.
The former NBA number one draft pick made his FIBA debut at the 2003 Under-19 World Cup, earning MVP honours after Australia’s gold medal winning campaign.

In a distinguished NBA career he played a total of 783 games, including 77 Playoff games and a Championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015.
He returned to the NBL late in his career and won the league’s MVP Award in 2019.
Other inductees in this year's Hall of Fame were Pau Gasol (Spain), Alphonse Bilé (Côte d'Ivoire), Leonor Borrell (Cuba), Ticha Penicheiro (Portugal), Ratko Radovanovic (Serbia), Dawn Staley (USA), and legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski (USA).
