Alex De Minaur and Alexei Popyrin Through to Canadian Open Quarter Finals

Alex De Minaur and reigning champion Alexei Popyrin have both advanced to the quarter finals at the Canadian Open.

Both Aussies defeated higher-seeded opponents overnight on their way to the quarter finals.
De Minaur was victorious against Frances Tiafoe 6-2 4-6 6-4, and will face either Flavio Cobolli, or Ben Shelton in the quarter finals.
Earlier, Popyrin rallied to upet fifth seed Holger Rune in three sets, 4-6 6-2 6-3.
Popyrin will face number 1 seed Alexander Zverev in the quarter finals, in his quest to go back to back in Toronto.
Meanwhile the women's tournament was rocked with two major upsets overnight, as top seed Coco Gauff and third seed Jess Pegula were both knocked out.
18-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko - ranked 85th in the world - overwhelmbed Gauff 6-1 6-4 in her home tournament.
Earlier, 35-year-old veteran Anastasija Sevastova defeated Pegula 3-6 6-4 6-1... Sevastova was formerly ranked as high as 11th in the world, but is currently ranked 406th.
