VFF SURVEY REVEALS FARMERS’ TOP CONCERNS

The results of the Victorian Farmers Federation’s 2026 State of the State Farmer Priorities Survey have been released, revealing the condition of regional roads is now the number one issue facing rural and regional Victorians.

More than 1000 farmers took part in the survey this year, with concerns about roads rising to the top of the list alongside other issues facing regional communities.

Nine in ten farmers say they do not believe the Victorian Government understands local issues or has a positive plan to grow the state’s $22 billion agriculture industry.

That result has changed little from last year, with the VFF saying farmer frustration remains high across regional Victoria.

The survey findings will now help the VFF refine their policy priorities and advocacy work for the coming year, including heading into Victoria’s November state election.
