Southern Australia's grassfed cattle producers are being encouraged to have their say as the national review of the Cattle Transaction Levy continues.

The review committee will hold face-to-face consultation meetings across South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania later this month, seeking feedback on current levy arrangements and how funds are supporting the industry.

Meetings will be held in Naracoorte, Mount Gambier, Mortlake, Ballarat, Launceston and Sale between July 20 and 23.

Committee member and cattle producer Harry Youngman says the review needs to be shaped by the producers who pay the levy and understand the challenges facing the industry.

He says the meetings will provide an opportunity for producers to ask questions and share their views on how levy funds can best support productivity, profitability and the sector's long-term future.

Feedback from the consultation process will help inform recommendations to be considered by levy payers later this year.
