Six South Australian soil and land management professionals have received funding through the South Australian Soils Bursary Program.

The initiative aims to strengthen the state’s agronomy sector by helping early-career professionals and researchers access training, development and knowledge-sharing opportunities.

The program is funded through the Federal Government’s National Soil Action Plan and managed by the South Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regions through the Soils Collaboration Centre.

Recipients will use the funding to complete accredited soil management training, undertake regenerative agriculture studies and attend international conferences focused on soil science and sustainable land management.

The State and Federal Governments say improving soil knowledge and land management capability will help boost long-term agricultural productivity and sustainability across South Australia.
