South Australian sheep producers are being encouraged to help shape the future of the national industry through upcoming consultations in Adelaide.

Livestock SA is hosting sessions as part of the Future Flock Strategy, a national initiative led by Sheep Producers Australia to guide the long-term direction of the sheep meat and wool sectors.

The consultations aim to give producers and supply chain participants direct input into policy and investment decisions affecting the industry.

Livestock SA Chair Gillian Fennell says it is critical producers have access to clear information and a straightforward way to contribute, particularly as they manage seasonal pressures, costs and market challenges.

South Australia’s red meat and wool industries contribute more than four billion dollars annually to the state economy and support over twenty-one thousand jobs.

Industry leaders say ensuring regional voices are heard will be key to building confidence and setting a sustainable course for the sector’s future.
