South Australia's peak sheep and goat representative body is running a survey for producers to have their say within weeks on the practicality, cost and other impacts of electronic traceability in the sector.

Livestock SA CEO Travis Tobin told Flow on Tuesday:

"We put together that open call for a whole of chain steering committee and this week it's really starting to engage with producers, agents, accumulators, feedlots, saleyards and also the online survey we launched on Monday to get as many people in the supply chain to tell us what it will mean for them."
"We know that vendor-bred terminal sire lambs direct to slaughter, people are questioning why do they need tags, they go from properties (straight) to processing."

The survey is accessible here.
