Nominations have officially opened for South Australia’s 2026 Agricultural Town of the Year, with regional communities encouraged to put themselves forward for the state’s top honour.

Now in its eighth year, the award recognises towns that demonstrate excellence in agriculture while also fostering strong, vibrant communities in which to live and work.

Delivered by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions in partnership with Solstice Media, the program highlights leadership, resilience and innovation across regional South Australia.

The winning town will receive a range of benefits, including formal recognition at an awards ceremony, town signage, media exposure and a feature in SALIFE magazine.

Last year’s winner, Lameroo in the state’s South East, was selected from a record 96 nominations and praised for its strong agricultural identity and community collaboration.

Nominations close on the sixth of May, with finalists to be announced in August ahead of the winner’s announcement later this year.
