Police investigate diesel thefts in SA Mallee

Murray Mallee Police are investigating a number of fuel thefts in the region over the past week.


Between Friday 14 and Monday 17 January Police say 2000 litres of diesel was stolen from a bunker storage tank at KR Wilson Drive, Karoonda.


Sometime between Thursday 13 and Friday 14 January 1300 litres of diesel was stolen from an above-ground fuel tank on premises at Angas Valley Road, Walker Flat.


Three other large quantity diesel thefts occurred between December 2021 and January 2022 from prime a mover/machinery at Mindarie and a tank at Wanbi.


In response to the thefts, Police remind businesses and farmers to secure unattended machinery and tanks appropriately.


Police also ask bulk diesel owners to consider installing CCTV coverage over fixed tanks and where possible, park vehicles in a locked area within a CCTV coverage area.
