New information boards are being installed at boat ramps across South Australia as part of a statewide effort to improve safety and environmental awareness for recreational boaters and fishers.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regions has partnered with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport and other agencies to streamline signage, bringing key safety and environmental information together in one easy-to-read location.
North Haven was the first boat ramp to receive the new installation, with O'Sullivan Beach now the latest site and more locations set to follow across the state.
Depending on the location, the boards include information on lifejacket requirements, safe boating speeds, recreational fishing regulations and local marine wildlife.
The boards also feature interchangeable panels, allowing information to be updated as needed while reducing visual clutter and making important safety information easier to access.
