Man arrested over Western Eyre Football Club break-in

A man will face court after breaking into a football club at Thevenard on Monday.

At about 11 pm on Monday 18 October, a window of the football club was smashed and an amount of alcohol stolen from the fridges.

Police attended and searched the area but were unable to locate any suspects.

The clubrooms were secured however a short time later, between 11.20 pm and 3.10 am, the premises were entered a second time and more alcohol was stolen.

Following an investigation, police yesterday arrested a local man over the incident.

A 27-year-old man was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and hindering police.

He was bailed to appear in the Ceduna Magistrates Court on 25 November.

Police say investigations are continuing and there may be further arrests regarding the break-ins.
